About
My name is Sheila Dobson and I am a qualified teacher with over forty years experience in education and private tuition. In 1991 I set up my own tuition service under the name Education Matters in order to provide expert help to children and adult learners. Lessons take place in my office in central Macclesfield which is fully equipped with IT facilities and access to a large library of text books.
I provide Maths and English tuition for all Key Stages up to and including GCSE, and special schemes are available for struggling learners in both subjects. Preparation for exams including SATs, 11+ and entrance exams is also available. During the summer holidays children can take part in a Maths summer school or enjoy How to Learn workshops, accelerated learning for Key Stage 2 children.
If your child has special needs please feel free to contact me to see what help I can provide for them. I am a qualified in the teaching of dyslexics and provide screening and assessment tests for both children and adults.
I also teach Piano and Keyboard and these lessons can be taken alone or be combined with academic tuition if you wish.
Adults or home schoolers who want to improve their literacy and numeracy skills are welcome.
